Jacob Rees Mogg Attempted To Recite John Barnes’ World In Motion Rap And Everyone Had The Same Reaction

Whether it’s been renditions of Sweet Caroline in the stands, or Atomic Kittenreleasing a reworked version of Whole Again, there’s been plenty of incredible musical moments during Euro 2020

However, one contribution that no-one expected – or indeed asked for – came as football fever swept through the House Of Commons on Thursday, following England’s historic semi-final win against Denmark.

The moment in question saw Commons leader Jacob Rees-Mogg attempting to recite John Barnes’ rap from New Order’s World In Motion.

Yep, not a sentence we thought we’d be writing today, but here we are.

Speaking in his usual drawl, the end result was, well, watch for yourself…

Needless to say there was plenty of reaction online…

Football fans, however, were much more taken with Atomic Kitten’s live TV performance of Southgate You’re The One (Football’s Coming Home Again).

The trio appeared on Crouchy’s Year-Late Euros: Live on Wednesday, following the re-recording of their classic hit Whole Again, which has been turned into a chant by England fans.

Donald Trump Reportedly Praised Hitler, New Book Claims

Former President Donald Trump praised Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler during a 2018 trip to France to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, a new book claims.“Well, Hitler did a lot of good things,” the then-president tol…

‘Stupid On So Many Levels’ – Trump’s Lawsuits Raked Over The Coals

Lawyers, reporters and other people who still have access to social media went to town on Wednesday on former President Donald Trump’s moonshot lawsuit against Facebook, Twitter and Google.

Trump announced he’s seeking class-action lawsuits against the tech giants for what he claims is an infringement of his First Amendment rights. He says the companies violated his right to freedom of speech by disabling his social media accounts in January.

Trump was banned from Twitter and suspended from YouTube and Facebook for violating each of the platforms’ policies after he incited his supporters to attempt a violent overthrow of the US government on January 6.

Legal experts have anticipated that the lawsuits have little chance of success. The First Amendment applies to government censorship. It does not prevent private companies from moderating content on their platforms, and social networks have the right to remove users who violate their terms, a number of experts pointed out.

As they tend to do, critics online nitpicked the filings, pointing out a number of flaws – and funnies.

Conservative attorney George Conway and several others noted that Trump’s lawyers appeared to be arguing that the tech companies were in league with the government…when Trump was the president:

The lawsuit also clashes with some of Trump’s previous legal arguments. When he was sued for blocking people on Twitter as president, his legal team argued that he should be able to do as he pleases with his private account.

Notably, Trump began fundraising immediately after announcing the news, which some saw as the true intention behind the long-shot lawsuit.

And finally, critics poked fun at the on-brand, motley crew of lawyers Trump assembled for the case.

Atomic Kitten Performed Southgate You’re The One On Live TV And People Were Absolutely Living For It

As if England’s win at the Euro 2020 semi final wasn’t enough, there was another historic moment later in the evening courtesy of Atomic Kitten

The girlband reunited for their first live TV performance of Southgate You’re The One (Football’s Coming Home Again), following the Three Lions’ 2-1 defeat against Denmark.

Tommy Kitts, as we shall be referring to them henceforth, appeared on Crouchy’s Year-Late Euros: Live following the re-recording of their classic hit Whole Again, which has been turned into a chant by England fans.

And after an evening of jubilance and celebration, it was the perfect way to round off the night, as many people online agreed….

Tommy Kitts, who are made up of Natasha Hamilton, Liz McClarnon and Jenny Frost, only recorded the new version of the song on Monday

Jenny revealed on Instagram that she was on a beach in Ibiza on Monday when she had a video call with Natasha and Liz about reworking the track and quickly headed to a recording studio on the Spanish island before jetting home.

The band said in a joint statement: “It’s been a whirlwind couple of days, but we are super excited and grateful to be able to contribute to the awesome energy and patriotism that is filling the England streets with this version of Whole Again.

“Totally inspired by the England football fans in support of Gareth Southgate and the super talented England football team, we will be singing loud and proud ‘Football’s Coming Home!’”

Whole Again was originally released back in 2001 and marked the group’s first number one UK single.

It became a chant for England fans as the team progressed to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and has been a firm favourite ever since.

Okay, But How Does Jack Grealish Keep His Headband In?

Jack Grealish’s 90s-style curtains are a sight to behold. There’s the shine! The volume! The headband! We haven’t seen a man rock the flop this well since David Beckham brought male hair accessories to the mainstream. Sure,…

Susanna Reid Hasn’t Got Time For Co-Host Alastair Campbell ‘Sucking The Joy’ Out Of England’s Euro 2020 Win

Susanna Reid wasn’t about to let her co-host Alastair Campbell bring Good Morning Britain viewers back down to earth following England’s Euro 2020 semi-final win on Thursday morning.

Alastair, who is a guest presenter on the ITV morning show, was accused of spoiling the mood with his decidedly measured tone.

After congratulating the England side on their 2-1 victory over Denmark, he criticised the decision to award the home side a penalty, which ultimately led the Three Lions to victory.

Alastair also said there were echoes of England’s Euro 1996 semi-final, which they famously lost to Germany.

However, Susanna was having none of it and declared it the best football match she’d ever seen live.

When Alastair then began to pay tribute to the Danes, he was stopped in his tracks by Susanna and co-host Kate Garraway.

“You’re like Kasper Schmeichel, any little bit of joy trying to get in the back of the net you’re there trying to stop it,” Susanna told him.

Viewers were similarly unimpressed…

Meanwhile David Beckham, Adele and Dua Lipa were among the famous faces celebrating England’s historic win.

Adele shared a video of her brilliant reaction to the moment England captain Harry Kane fired in the winning goal.

Sharing a clip on her Instagram, the singer can be seen jumping around her living room and screaming – first in horror when Kane’s penalty was saved, and then in delight when the ball rebounded off keeper Kasper Schmeichel and the captain managed to find the net.

Gareth Southgate’s men will play Italy on Sunday – England’s first major international final since the 1966 World Cup.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
