The ‘Great British Bake Off’ final will feature a first for the series, as it leaves the tent for a special technical challenge.
The three finalists, Kim-Joy, Rahul Mandal and Ruby Bhogal, will all undertake one of the final tasks away from show’s familiar surroundings.
It will be the first time in the series’ nine years on air that viewers have seen the bakers in competition away from its signature tent.
Channel 4 is remaining tight-lipped as to what exactly the challenge will entail, but confirmed news of what we’re now calling Texit in a statement.
“The technical challenge will not be baked in the tent and it will be the first time ever,” a spokesperson said.
This week’s semi-final saw Briony Williams fall at the last hurdle as she was eliminated after after a patisserie blunder.
She was sent home after “probably” mixing up salt and sugar in her showstopper challenge, which saw her efforts branded “raw” and “very salty” by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
Kim-Joy, Rahul and Ruby will now compete to be crowned Britain’s best amateur baker in next week’s grand final.
Ruby is in a particularly strong position going into the episode, having been crowned Star Baker for the second time on Tuesday.
‘The Great British Bake Off’ final airs next Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
