Strictly Results: Katie Piper Leaves After Losing Out To Charles Venn In Dance-Off

Katie Piper has become the third celebrity to be eliminated from this year’s series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

In Sunday night’s results show, Katie and professional partner Gorka Marquez were voted out of the competition by the judging panel, after winding up in the bottom two against Charles Venn and Karen Clifton.

During the most recent live show, Katie and Gorka had been the lowest-scoring couple of the night, after their Jive to ‘Why Do Fools Fall In Love?’ failed to impress the judges.

She said: “I have taken a lot from this experience and it has all been really positive, and I’ll never forget this journey. Charles was the better dancer out of us two and there are some brilliant dancers in this competition and sadly I don’t think I was one of them! But I have had a great experience you know and I feel really privileged to have been here and thanks for your advice and thank you (Gorka) for all the hours!

“One thing as well all the public not just the audience here but the general public have been so supportive online and have voted for me the other weeks so I feel thrilled to have been here for four weeks. So thank you to everyone.”

Gorka added: “Well first of all thank you, for being such a wonderful human because you know everyone knows how much you have been through and everything but to get the chance to know you and be working with you and get to know how strong you are, how always wanting to be better and improve. For me that’s my lesson and what I learnt from you.”

This marked Charles and Karen’s second time in the bottom two, having previously triumphed over Lee Ryan and Nadiya Bychkova in the dance-off a week earlier.

In the lead-up to this week’s live show, bookies named comedian Seann Walsh as their top pick for the chop, after a week of dominating the headlines when he was caught on camera kissing his professional partner Katya Jones.

They ended up finishing in fifth place on the leaderboard, for the second week in a row, with Seann bagging more points than any other male celebrity on the night.

Meanwhile, Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton dominated the leaderboard, impressing the judges with their Foxtrot routine.

‘Strictly’ continues on Saturday night on BBC One, where an “exciting guest judge” will be filling in for Bruno Tonioli for one week only.
