Watch Theresa May Death Stare Andrew Marr During Insanely Awkward Closing Credits

The closing credits of a political talk show is usually the time for a bit of unscripted joshing between guest and host as they demonstrate that no matter how hard the questioning, both are just there to do a job and any hard feelings disappear when the cameras stop rolling.

Sunday’s Andrew Marr Show was a bit different.

After a grilling in which she refused to take personal responsibility for the Windrush scandal, Theresa May just stared at Marr as the credits rolled.

And stared. And stared.

Marr attempted to say something but getting no response, decided to just awkwardly move some bits of paper around instead.

The PM’s reticence to be friendly may well have stemmed from the segment on Windrush in which she was played a clip of a woman, Sarah Connor, who lost her job because she could not prove she was British.

Connor said: “Apologies are all good and well but an apology doesn’t help the things the Windrush people have gone through.”

May replied: “I can only apologise for what Sarah went through and what her family have gone through.”
