A 15-year-old girl has been shot on a Birmingham street in what police said was a “targeted attack”.
A woman aged 36 was also shot in Frodesley Road, Sheldon, at around 9.40pm on Thursday.
Police sealed off a section of the road and are making house to house inquiries.
The teenager and the woman remained in hospital with minor injuries on Friday.
No arrests have yet been made and West Midlands Police urged anyone with information to come forward.
A statement from the force read: “Two people have been taken to hospital with gunshot wounds after reports of a firearm discharge in Sheldon, Birmingham last night (13 September).
“The incident took place at around 9.40pm on Frodesley Road. A woman aged 36 and a teenager aged 15 are in hospital with minor injuries.
“Enquiries are on-going to understand the circumstances of the incident, however at this stage the incident is believed to have been targeted.”
Police say anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting log number 2684 of 13 September.
