A man is in life threatening condition after two shots were fired at the front door of a house in Manchester.
The 21-year-old victim was hit by the bullets when they passed through the door.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Ermington Drive in Cheetham Hill at 9.35pm on Thursday.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers attended and found that the 21-year-old victim had already been taken to hospital. He remains there in a life threatening condition.
“Initial enquiries have established that the offender attended the address and fired two shots at the front door of the property, which then hit the victim who was inside.”
A witness told Manchester Evening News: “I looked out of the window and could see four police cars and ambulances. A next door neighbour was shouting.
“A policeman was knocking on doors. He said there had been a gun shooting and there had been injuries.”
The witness said there was a gun shot around 9.30pm and another a little later.
They added: “There is always trouble around here.”
An investigation has been launched and enquiries into what happened are on-going, police confirmed.
No arrests have been made.
