It has been revealed that the Prue Leith, one of the judges of the ‘Great British Bake Off’, doesn’t even really like baking that much, and we’re not really sure what to believe anymore.
“I have a passion for eating cakes,” she began – yes, we love it, relatable so far. “But I’m more interested in savoury cooking than baking,” she told the Mirror.
Of course, we all like to eat cakes, but as a judge of what’s likely the most anticipated baking event of the year, we’re frankly shook by the revelation that the culinary skill isn’t a big part of her repertoire.
Having joined the prime time baking competition in 2017, we’re wondering whether this is conclusive evidence that we all exaggerate a little bit on our CVs after all.
But despite this earth-shattering revelation, we’re not going to challenge her – the chef has launched her own cookery school, Leith’s School of Food and Wine, so she’s clearly still more qualified than us.
But let’s just say we’ve got our eye on the judges – especially as the bombshell comes only a week after Noel Fielding confessed that he wasn’t a fan of sweet sponges, and opted out of tasting the weekly challenge to spare his tender tastebuds.
The comedian has also admitted that he’s not a connoisseur of the culinary art either, but in slightly less delicate language.
‘The Great British Bake Off’ continues on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
