Kirstie Allsopp’s Twitter Deactivated Following ‘Smashed iPads’ Row

Kirstie Allsopp appears to have deactivated her Twitter account, after facing a backlash over a revelation she made about her home life.

No stranger to a controversial comment or two, Kirstie made headlines on Monday when she disclosed that she recently smashed up her kids’ iPads when they refused to obey her rules about using them.

After her actions were criticised on social media, her Twitter account is now no longer active, suggesting she’s taken herself off the site.

HuffPost UK has reached out to representatives for Kirstie Allsopp, and is awaiting a response.

During a discussion on Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show, Kirsty disclosed: “We’d made all sorts of rules, and all sorts of times when we’d said [the children] can’t play on them. All of those rules got broken, and in the end, I said, ’right, that’s it, I have to physcially [break them]…”

Last year, Kirstie deactivated her Twitter after becoming embroiled in yet another public debate, this time after hitting out at households who kept their washing machines in their kitchens.

She admitted to finding it “disgusting”, claiming that it was her “life’s work” to get people to stop doing their laundry so close to where they prepare food.

However, after a severe backlash, she branded her detractors a “total bunch of fuckwits”, eventually choosing to take down her account altogether, though it was later reinstated.

A year earlier, the ‘Location! Location! Location!’ presenter faced similar criticism when she was accused of “food-shaming” somebody that she’d spotted eating their breakfast in a café by posting a tweet about their meal.
