When Kym Marsh married actor Jamie Lomas this weekend, there was one person missing – their beloved son Archie who died just after his birth in 2009.
Corrie actress Kym made sure their little boy was involved in the ceremony by carrying his ashes in a beautiful white box.
In an interview with this week’s OK! magazine, which featured Kym and Jamie’s star-studded day with extensive interviews and photos, Kym said: “I carry Archie’s ashes with me to every special occasion. I like to feel him close to me, it’s comforting.
“Little Archie isn’t here today, but we know he’ll be looking down.”
For the ceremony, Jamie wore cufflinks engraved with Archie’s footprints.
In a previous interview with the magazine, Kym said they were both determined to have their little boy involved when they got married, saying:
“We will have Archie with us one way or another. We’ll celebrate him on the day.
“When we lost Archie, they gave us his hand and footprints, so I have got the footprints shrunk down and put on cufflinks for Jamie and a necklace for me so he’ll very much be with us, like all our kids.
“He’ll be with us in spirit.”
Kym and Jamie are proud parents to baby Polly, who was born seven weeks early. Kym also has two children from a previous relationship, teenagers David and Emily, while Jamie is also dad to son Billy, six.
