Ant And Dec Tease New Series Of Saturday Night Takeaway Could Feature SM:TV Reunion

Ant and Dec have teased that the new series of Saturday Night Takeaway could feature an exciting SM:TV reunion.

The pair are gearing up for brand new episodes of Takeaway beginning this weekend, after an absence of almost a year.

Speaking to Digital Spy ahead of the new series, Ant and Dec let slip they’re trying to put something together featuring their old co-host Cat Deeley for a special tribute to their SM:TV days.

Declan Donnelly revealed: “We talked about doing something last September, which we were going to do in conjunction with Ant and I celebrating 30 years of working together last year. We were going to do something in September to celebrate that, and then Covid happened.”

He continued: “We’ve been close a couple of times. We’re always talking to Cat [Deeley] anyway. Maybe something will happen at some point.

“We’re talking about Cat maybe coming on Saturday Night Takeaway, and maybe doing something… this year.”

On Boxing Day last year, Ant, Dec and Cat took part in the documentary The Story Of SM:TV Live, which looked back at some of the live Saturday morning show’s highlights.

The trio had previously been planning something for SM:TV’s 20th anniversary in 2018, prior to Ant McPartlin’s arrest for drink-driving, after which he took some time out from the spotlight to focus on his recovery.

Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway returns on Saturday night at 7pm on ITV.
