RuPaul’s Drag Race’s United Kingdolls Set To Break The UK Charts This Week

If you’re a RuPaul’s Drag Race UK fan who’s had UK Hun on a loop since Thursday night’s instalment, you’re definitely not on your own.

Last week’s episode of Drag Race UK saw the queens split into two teams – the United Kingdolls and Bananadrama – who went up against one another in the brilliantly-named Ruruvision Song Contest.

As viewers saw, the United Kingdolls (made up of Lawrence Chaney, A’Whorea, Tayce and Bimini Bon Boulash) were the winners of the challenge, with their take on UK Hun going down a storm with the judges – not to mention Drag Race fans.

Shortly after the episode aired, UK Hun was made available to stream and download, with the United Kingdolls’ version shooting to the top of the iTunes chart.

On Monday, the Official Charts Company revealed that the song is also on course to break the UK top 40 this week, currently sitting at number 25.

Over the weekend, UK Hun was revealed to have reached number four in the UK Top 40, making it the rival chart show’s highest new entry of the week.

Ironically, it’s been almost seven years since a UK entrant into the actual Eurovision Song Contest has made the top 40, with Molly’s Children Of The Universe peaking at number 23 in 2014.

During the first series of Drag Race UK in 2019, a similar challenge saw The Frock Destroyers – made up of contestants Divina Da Campo, Baga Chipz and Blue Hydrangea – reaching number 35 in the UK charts with their song Break Up Bye Bye.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK continues on Thursday at 7pm on BBC Three, when the remaining queens take on the infamous Snatch Game challenge.
