With a new series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK about to start, we’ll be getting to know a fresh batch of queens over the next 10 weeks.
However, you might already be acquainted with one the contestants thanks to her turn on The X Factor.
Ginny Lemon, who is one of the 12 queens competing on the hit BBC Three series, previously tried out for the ITV talent show in 2017.
She auditioned for judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh during auditions that were, for reasons we can’t quite recall, held at Thorpe Park.
While Ginny is certainly going to be one to watch on Drag Race, the X Factor judges had a mixed reaction to her rendition of Liberty X’s Just A Little.
Sharon told her: “Ginny, you’re a great visual performer, you just need to tone it down.”
Simon appeared much less impressed, however, asking: “What the hell just happened?”
Despite this, Ginny did make it through to Bootcamp, where she teamed up with fellow contestants Doctor Woof, Russell Jones and Descendance for a group performance.
Sadly, though, her dream of making it to Judges Houses wasn’t to be, and she was eliminated prior to the dreaded Six Chair Challenge.
Ginny joked she was “livid” at the judges’ decision and dubbed herself “Bitter Lemon” as she walked off stage.
Ginny will be hoping to fare better in front of RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr as the second series of Drag Race UK begins streaming on BBC Three from Thursday evening.
She is not the only queen with a previous claim to fame though, as Dua Lipa fans may also recognise contestant Tayce from an appearance she had in the singer’s video for the remix of Levitating.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK begins streaming on Thursday from 8pm on BBC Three, with new episodes dropping weekly.
