Hugh Grant Admits He Can’t Actually Remember What Happens To Him In Love Actually

Love Actually may be ingrained in the public consciousness, but one person who is a little less familiar with the details of the beloved film is one of the people who actually starred in it.

Hugh Grant has admitted he can’t actually remember what happened to his character in the 2003 festive classic.

The actor played the UK prime minister, David, who falls for Downing Street staff member Natalie, played by former EastEnders star Martine McCutcheon

Love Actually plays to many stereotypes about Britishness

Asked about the possibility of a Love Actually sequel in an interview with Digital Spy, he replied: “I don’t know. I’ve never thought about that… I can’t even remember what happens in the film.”

He explained: “It’s so long since I’ve seen it. You’d have to remind me [laughs]. How do I end up?”

For those, like Hugh, who don’t remember, David and Natalie’s hidden romance was unveiled when they were kissing backstage at the Christmas play and the curtain suddenly rose, to much applause from the audience.

Hugh and Martine also reprised their roles for a Comic Relief short in 2017, which caught up with the majority of characters from the film and confirmed that David and Natalie were still very much together.

However, Hugh can’t have forgotten everything about the film, as in 2019, he revealed one scene in particular that was “absolute hell” to shoot
