Former The Wanted singer Tom Parker has revealed there’s been a “significant reduction” to his brain tumour following treatment.
In October, the chart-topping star shared the news that he’d been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour after having a seizure during a family holiday.
Sharing a health update with his Instagram followers on Thursday, Tom excitedly said he’d been told there’d been a “significant reduction” to the tumour, and that he was “responding well to treatment”.
“SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION!” Tom wrote, alongside a family photo. “These are the words I received today and I can’t stop saying them over and over again.”
He continued: “I had an MRI scan on Tuesday and my results today were a significant reduction to the tumour and I am responding well to treatment. Everyday I’m keeping on the fight to shrink this bastard!
“I can’t thank our wonderful NHS enough. You’re all having a tough time out there but we appreciate the work you are all doing on the front line.”
Tom also thanked his wife, Kelsey Hardwick, for her support, adding: “My babies- I fight for you every second of every day.
“Friends, family and everyone on this journey with me- you have got me through my darkest days… This journey is a rollercoaster that’s for sure. Today is a fucking good day.”
Tom is best known as a member of the boyband The Wanted, who had numerous top 10 singles in the early 2010s, including Chasing The Sun, Walks Like Rihanna, Lightning and the number ones All Time Low and Glad You Came.
Since the band split, he has played Danny in a theatre production of Grease, and appeared on the reality show The Jump.
