Rebekah Vardy Hints There Could Be A ‘Resolution’ With Coleen Rooney After WAGatha Christie Saga

Rebekah Vardy has said 2021 could be the year we see the end of the WAGatha Christie saga, suggesting she hopes to settle her differences with Coleen Rooney.

The pair have been locked in a legal battle after Coleen accused Rebekah’s Instagram account of leaking “false stories” about her private life to the press last year.

Rebekah has always firmly denied she is responsible, and is suing Coleen for damages for libel.

Speaking about the saga in an interview with Hello! magazine, Rebekah said “The new year could potentially see a resolution between us.

“I’m pretty sure the public are sick of reading about it, too.”

Rebekah, who is married to Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, won the first stage of her libel case against Coleen last month

In his judgment, Mr Justice Warby ruled that the “natural and ordinary” meaning of Coleen’s posts was that Rebekah had “regularly and frequently abused her status as a trusted follower of Ms Rooney’s personal Instagram account by secretly informing The Sun newspaper of Ms Rooney’s private posts and stories”.

Announcing his decision, the judge said that the meaning he had determined was “substantially the same as the claimant’s meaning”, rejecting Coleen’s contention that she simply referred to Rebekah’s Instagram account, rather than Rebekah herself.

Coleen was subsequently ordered to pay Rebekah just under £23,000 in costs.

Rebekah and Coleen have agreed for a “stay” of the proceedings until February, so there could be “one final attempt to resolve the matter without the need for a full trial”.
