A teaser trailer for the second series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK has been revealed, showing the new queens in action for the first time.
Drag Race UK’s return has been long awaited, after production was briefly halted earlier in the year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the return date for the series having now been confirmed, and the 12 queens vying for the title of the UK’s next Drag Race superstar being revealed earlier this week, the BBC shared the first trailer for the new series on Friday evening.
The 20-second teaser features footage from the show, arranged so that the queens and judges can be heard singing “we wish you a merry drag-mas… and a happy Ru year”.
Among the short clips featured in the trailer are footage of the new queens speaking to the camera out of drag in their confessionals, as well as scenes from their first day in the work room.
The teaser also features clips of guest judges Elizabeth Hurley and Jourdan Dunn.
Drag Race UK will return to BBC Three on Thursday 14 January 2021, less than two weeks after the 13th season of the regular series debuts in the US.
Five guest judges appearing in season two of Drag Race UK were confirmed earlier this week, including the aforementioned Elizabeth Hurley and Jourdan Dunn, and the return of Lorraine Kelly to the show.
In addition to those confirmed by the BBC, Dawn French previously teased that she’d served as a judge on the new series, while reports have claimed that reality TV legend Gemma Collins will also be putting in an appearance.
