Piers Morgan Is No Doubt Loving The Fact Comedian Munya Chawawa Has Named His Debut Single After Him

Internet comedian Munya Chawawa has unveiled his debut single, and it’s one we think could well capture the attention of a certain controversial daytime host.

The name of the track? Piers Morgan.

After signing a deal with Atlantic Records, Munya debuted his first single on Friday, under the guise of one of his comedy characters, Unknown P, “the UK’s first ‘posh’ drill rapper”.

While the song’s music video features a set very reminiscent of the Good Morning Britain studio, Munya (or should that be Unknown P) is heard rapping: “Sipping on tea, pass me a bourbon, had to run a man down in my wellies, now I’m telly, Piers Morgan, Susanna Reid I’m adorin’.”

We can only imagine how thrilled the man himself is to make it into a rap song –  even if it is one recorded by a comedy character.

A press release for Piers Morgan (the song, not the man, obviously), explains: “Written over a booming drill beat, the track itself documents a day in the life of Unknown P and nods to his daily consumption of morning television and the divisive figure that is Piers Morgan.”

Announcing the track earlier this week, Munya joked on Twitter: “@PiersMorgan, I suggest you start writing your reply now.”

Munya has gained a huge online following in recent times, thanks to sketches featuring characters like “Bi Bi Si News” presenter Barty Crease and Unknown P, who previously featured in a music video sending up the beef between Stormzy and Chip.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Munya had been nominated for a Mobo Award, in the new category of Best Media Personality, alongside Clara Amfo, Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan and KSI.
