Gemma Collins’ Hilarious Encounter With A Polar Bear Is Giving Us I’m A Celebrity Deja Vu

Gemma Collins’ stint in the I’m A Celebrity jungle might have been short, but it is the stuff of TV legend.

So we were delighted to see a throwback to her time in the Australian outback as she debuted the latest series of her reality show on Tuesday night.

In ITVBe’s Diva Forever And Ever, The GC was up to her old tricks as she headed to a safari park in an effort to become “the next David Attenborough” (her words, not ours).

However, Gemma’s ambitions of becoming a conservationist hit somewhat of a stumbling block when she got freaked out during an encounter with a polar bear.

She had been invited to help feed the arctic creature after it was guided into a safe, caged environment.

But having previously had a phone call with her mum Joan, who warned her that a polar bear could rip her head off, Gemma could not stop thinking about her words and made a bolt for it.

Running away, she stopped short of saying the full famous “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here,” phrase but said: “Thanks for the opportunity, but sorry I’m a bit scared. I need to see… Can you get me out of here?”

With the gate securely bolted, Gemma attempted to scale the fence.

Realising that wasn’t a good idea, she said: “Alright, get me out. Sorry I’m getting a bit panicky.”

But while Gemma’s hands-on approach to her animal work didn’t quite go to plan, she made up for it by sponsoring a polar bear – something she couldn’t wait to inform her crush about during a ridiculous phone call.

While Gemma’s fear of animals doesn’t seem to have improved since her days in the I’m A Celebrity camp, she seemed to be more at home in a helicopter this time around.

The GC was seen travelling in style to the safari park and was much calmer during the flight than the last time she was in a chopper on national television…

Gemma Collins: Diva Forever And Ever continues next Tuesday at 9pm on ITVBe.
