Changing Rooms To Return With Davina McCall As New Presenter

Davina McCall is set to front a revival of interior design series Changing Rooms

The presenter has been announced as the face of Channel 4′s reboot of the show, despite original host Carol Smilie publicly saying she wanted to return.

It has been revealed that Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is returning, going up against another designer as their teams makeover rooms in each other’s houses.

Davina said in a statement: “I’m so excited to be presenting Changing Rooms. It’s the perfect time to bring it back. Everyone is going DIY and decor-mad!

“I can’t wait to see all the amazing transformations. I might even get stuck in myself if I’m allowed to be let loose with a paint brush.”

Laurence also said: “It’s taken quite a lot of coaxing to get me under the Changing Rooms banner once more, but nothing like as much coaxing as it’s going to take to squeeze those leather trousers back on.”

Carpenter Handy Andy is also set to don his tool belt once again, according to The Sun.

Changing Rooms originally ran on the BBC from 1996 to 2004, with Carol hosting from its inception until 2003, before Laurence stepped into the presenting role.

After rumours the show was being revived were published in the press earlier in the year, Carol admitted she was keen to return.

She said in an interview with The Sun: “It was definitely the favourite show of my career, without a doubt. It would be the only show I’d come back to telly for.”
