Ross Kemp Reveals Extreme Swollen Lip After Being Stung In Wasp Attack

Ross Kemp has renamed himself “wasp Kemp” after he disrupted a wasps nest while accessing his loft space at home

The former EastEnders actor was left with extreme swelling on his top lip after being stung by the insects on Monday.

Ross Kemp went to hospital to receive treatment after being stung by wasps

Ross had to go to hospital to receive treatment after his lip swelled up as a result of the attack.

Speaking in a series of videos to his Twitter followers, he said: “Now being seen by our fantastic NHS – local doctor’s just giving me a hydrocortisone. Hopefully that’s going to bring it down a bit.”

The actor and presenter – who is best known for playing Grant Mitchell on the BBC soap, as well as fronting various documentaries – also imitated Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger’s famous lips.

“I look like Mick Jagger, don’t I?” he joked.

He then tried to sing the band’s hit (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction but admitted: “Oh, it hurts a bit.”

Ross also issued a warning to his fans about disturbing a wasp nest.

He said: “That just goes to show what happens with nature.

“I had no idea when I was opening the hatch that there was actually a wasp nest on top of it.

“I am very lucky that they only stung me on my nose, in my nose and my top lip.

“It could have been far worse. Thank you again, you lovely, lovely NHS.”

Ross recently fronted a documentary about dementia for ITV, in which he spoke to the husband of his former EastEnders’ co-star Barbara Windsor, who played his on-screen mum.

The star was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2014, with Ross admitting that the deterioration in her condition “has been shocking” and “upsetting”

Barbara’s husband Scott Mitchell has since made the difficult decision to move her into a care home, after her condition worsened during lockdown.
