Take That singer Howard Donald appears to have been fooled by a photoshopped picture of himself and bandmate Mark Owen posing with David Bowie.

Earlier this week, Howard posted a black-and-white picture on his Instagram feed showing the late music legend with his arms draped around himself and his bandmate.

However, over the weekend, one Twitter user pointed out that the photo in question looked as though it had been doctored, and that Bowie’s face had actually been edited over Gary Barlow’s.

It was then spotted that a Take That fan page may well have been responsible for the picture, as they were seen commenting: “I’m so glad you like it Howard.”

A quick glance at the fan in question’s feed shows the members of Take That posing with a number of other iconic artists in doctored photos, including Freddie Mercury, Elvis Presley and a young George Michael.

Interestingly, Howard accompanied his photo with an anecdote about having met Bowie, writing: “I was just gonna put this on my stories but then I though[t] this is much more worthy of the main feed.

“For sure I was very nervous meeting @davidbowie as I’m not so comfortable around other famous people and can get star struck quite easily, but he was so normal and down to earth which made me feel at ease. Plus it was an opportunity I was never gonna miss and so glad I had the balls to ask.”

He continued: “Will there ever be anyone as musically talented as the man himself? And also someone that changed fashions and music styles like nobody else. Doubt it! Was a pleasure Mr Bowie.”

As another Twitter user pointed out, though, the post could well be Howard’s way of reminiscing about his past meeting with Bowie.

HuffPost UK has contacted Howard Donald’s representatives for clarification about his Instagram post.

This isn’t the first time Howard’s social media posts have raised eyebrows in recent times, though.

Last month, he announced he would be deleting his Twitter page after voicing some controversial opinions about vaccines and face coverings.
