The number of people who have died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus has risen to 42,589 – an increase of 128 over 24 hours.
The figures cover the period up to 5pm on Friday and do not include all deaths involving coronavirus across the UK.
Only those who had tested positive for Covid-19 are included, which means anyone who died with a suspected case would not be recorded.
The Department of Health and Social Care reported that another 1,295 people had tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the UK total to 303,110.
As of 9am on Saturday, a total of 7,714,201 tests have been carried out. The number of people tested will be significantly lower as many people are tested more than once.
