With music artists unable to play for their fans in the traditional way at the moment, many have been getting creative with at-home performances in lockdown.
But Katy Perry has just taken that creativity to new heights with a performance of her latest single Daisies.
The star, who is pregnant with her first child, is currently in quarantine in the US but didn’t let that get in the way of her putting on a show during the American Idol final on Sunday night.
Katy used some “brand new technology” to transport her from a virtual Idol stage into various living room set-ups.
She tweeted: “Start on the #AmericanIdol stage, end up in a whole new world, thanks to brand new technology that’s never been seen before on TV.
“Hope it transported you out of your living room as much as it transported me into this one.”
American Idol has been filming its “live” shows remotely over the last month, with Katy and fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, presenter Ryan Seacrest and the contestants all appearing from home.
Sunday night saw Just Sam triumph over Arthur Gunn in the show’s remote finale.
Katy is currently expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom.
The singer confirmed the news in the music video for her latest single, Never Worn White back in March, which finished with a side-on shot of her cradling a baby bump.
“Omg so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore or carry around a big purse lol,” she later tweeted.
