Lily Allen has sparked speculation that she and Stranger Things star David Harbour are engaged after a cryptic Instagram post about a ring she’s been seen wearing.

During lockdown, Lily is self-isolating with David and her two daughters, Ethel and Marnie, from her previous marriage to ex-husband Sam Cooper.

On Thursday, the chart-topping star shared a photo of herself in gym wear on Instagram, joking: “Daily Mail readers gon say it’s photoshop. I AM RIPPED don’t @ me.”

However, it wasn’t her physique that had fans talking, but a rather eye-catching piece of jewellery she was seen wearing on her left hand.

One of her followers picked up on the ring in question, writing: “Um…. engagement ring??????????????”

The comment actually sparked a response from Lily Allen, who referenced the 1999 film Fight Club with her reply: “First rule of engagement club.”

For those not in the know, this refers to one of the film’s most quoted lines: “The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club.”

A spokesperson for Lily Allen had no comment when contacted by HuffPost UK.

Lily and David were first rumoured to be an item in October last year, after they were photographed kissing in New York.

Days later, she confirmed the relationship on her Instagram Story, sharing a photo of the actor’s bicep with the caption: “Mine.”

Lily has actually been wearing the ring in question for some time now, including in a photo she posted last week to commemorate nine months of sobriety.

It was also present when the singer made an appearance at the Cheltenham Festival back in March.

David was previously dating Fantastic Beasts star Alison Sudol, but the couple split in 2019 following a long-term romance.

Prior to that, he dated Julia Stiles for four years between 2011 and 2015, and was engaged to Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress Maria Thayer.

Lily separated from husband Sam Cooper in 2015 after almost four years of marriage, eventually divorcing in 2018.

Following this, she dated grime MC Meridian Dan, but they split in January 2019 after three years together.
