More than 20,000 people have died in hospitals in the UK after contracting coronavirus.
The number of deaths in hospitals has risen by 813 in 24 hours according to the Department of Health and Social Care – bringing the total number of deaths so far to 20,319.
These figures cover the period up to 5pm on Friday, April 24.
The increase consists of 711 in England, 47 in Scotland, 23 in Wales and 16 in Northern Ireland, according to officials from the four separate devolved authorities.

As of 9am on Saturday, 517,836 people have been tested for coronavirus, with 148,377 coming back positive.
The UK is the fifth country in the world to officially report more than 20,000 deaths, with higher totals recorded only in the US, Italy, France and Spain.
The US has by far the highest number of officially reported deaths, with the toll currently standing at more than 52,000.
