Katie Price hasn’t chosen the easy option when it comes to making her big showbiz comeback.
The reality star is staging her return with a stint on the notoriously gruelling challenge show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
Pricey has largely been out of the spotlight since she was declared bankrupt last year, later promising “a very exciting fresh beginning” in 2020.
She has now been confirmed as one of the 12 famous faces who will be pushed to the limits in the challenging terrain of Scotland’s rugged West Coast to see if they have what it takes to pass SAS Selection.
Others who are taking part include former TOWIE star Joey Essex, TV presenter Anthea Turner and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole.
They will be joined by ex-Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton, former Wimbledon footballer John Fashanu, Hollyoaks actress Nikki Sanderson, YouTube star Jack Maynard, Paralympian Lauren Steadman, Rudimental’s Locksmith and Radio 1Xtra DJ Yasmin Evans, as well as former boxing champion Tony Bellew.
Chief instructor Ant Middleton and his team Foxy, Billy, Ollie and new member Jay will put the celebrities through the toughest course yet, in a derelict farmstead on the remote island of Raasay, where they will be exposed to punishing weather and volatile seas.
Ant – who recently prompted a backlash with his controversial comments about the coronavirus pandemic – said: “If these celebrities turn up with an ego, they won’t last 24 hours.
“There are no short cuts, there are no easy options. They think they know what’s coming but trust me, they are going to get the absolute shock of their lives.”
It has been a difficult two years for Katie, who ended 2019 bankrupt, despite once being worth a reported £40 million.
She was fined and banned from driving for six months in February 2018 after being caught speeding, later turning herself in to police after she got behind the wheel two weeks before her ban was up. But in October, she was arrested again for being twice over the drink drive limit after crashing her car into a bush. Another driving ban followed.
Last June, Katie also pleaded guilty to hurling a “tirade of abuse” outside a school during a dispute with ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s new girlfriend, Michelle Penticost.
And just last month, Katie was ordered to pay damages of £25,000 to another of her ex-husbands Alex Reid, after he sued her for misusing private information about his sex life
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins will return to Channel 4 soon.
