Dancing On Ice Pro Hamish Gaman Admits He’s ‘Not OK’ After Parting Ways With Skating Partner Caprice

Dancing On Ice professional Hamish Gaman has broken his silence after he and his celebrity skating partner Caprice suddenly ‘parted ways’ just weeks into the competition.

Earlier this month Dancing On Ice presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield confirmed that Hamish and the former model would no longer be skating together, but gave no further explanation.

Now Hamish has spoken out on social media for the first time since the announcement, thanking fans for their support but admitting he is “not ok”.

Posting on Instagram on Friday, he wrote: Instagram: “Hi everyone. Thank you so much for your kind messages.

“I’ve been overwhelmed by your love and support — it’s brought me to tears at times.

“Honestly, I’m not okay, but I’d like to thank Amelia, my pro family and ITV for doing all that they can to support me.

“I’m comforted knowing the truth always comes out in the end and I hope we can focus on the skating again now.”

Hamish’s message comes after show bosses hit back at claims the pair’s skating partnership came to an end because of “bullying”, with The Sun claiming Caprice felt “pushed too hard” by her skating partner.

However, a representative for the show has since vehemently denied this.

A spokesperson told The Mirror: “We have seen no evidence of the alleged bullying on Dancing on Ice and strongly refute any suggestion to the contrary.

“We’re very proud of the team, both on and off screen. They produce a fantastic show and we are committed to ensuring that everyone who works on the programme is fully supported.”

Caprice returned to the ice on Sunday night’s show with her new partner Oscar Peter.

Meanwhile, Hamish – who joined the show in 2018, and has previously skated with Olympic athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton and X Factor singer Saara Aalto – remains part of our professional team on the ITV show.
