With David Walliams taking the reins of the National Television Awards, there was always going to be a step up in silliness from previous years.
And sure enough, David kicked things off with a skit that took aim at his fellow Britain’s Got Talent judges.
The Little Britain star transformed into co-stars Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell – and quite frankly, the results cannot be unseen.
The sketch saw “David” turning up to audition for the BGT judges in the hope of landing the NTAs presenting gig.
And while David might not have impressed “Simon, Alesha and Amanda”, he did win a Golden Buzzer… from himself.
This year has seen David take over as the presenter of the NTAs from Dermot O’Leary.
The X Factor host stepped down from the role following last year’s ceremony, after nine years at the helm.
Of course, David is no stranger to the NTAs, having won the Best TV Judge award for his BGT role in 2015, 2018, and 2019.
He’s hoping to bag the title again this year, as he is nominated alongside Simon, Drag Race star RuPaul and The Voice UK coaches Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am.
David also won the Landmark Achievement Award for his TV work and Sport Relief charity efforts.
