Caroline Flack Returns To Social Media To Rally Behind Love Island At NTAs

Caroline Flack has made a rare return to social media to rally behind Love Island at this year’s National Television Awards.

The presenter stepped down from hosting the sixth series of the ITV2 reality show, after being charged with assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton last month.

While Caroline previously revealed she had been advised to stay off social media as she awaits trial, she sent some good luck wishes to the team ahead of the ceremony on Tuesday night.

Posting on her Instagram Story, she wrote: “Good luck to all the team and cast at tonight’s NTAs… it’s such a fun night… cmon Love Island.”

The show has been nominated for Best Challenge Show at the 25th annual NTAs, alongside MasterChef, The Apprentice, The Circle and The Great British Bake Off.

Caroline has been replaced by Laura Whitmore for the current series of Love Island, and previously broke her social media silence to wish her well ahead of the show’s launch earlier this month.

Caroline recently returned to the UK after spending time in LA, following her court appearance last month

The court heard that she allegedly hit Lewis over the head with a lamp as he slept at her north London home.

She entered a not guilty plea and will face trial on 4 March.

ITV2’s commissioning editor Amanda Stavri has made it clear that she’d be happy to see Caroline back at the helm of Love Island in the future.

She told The Mirror: “We are continuing to talk to Caroline. We are in constant contact and the door is open.”
