Beauty fans, listen up. Huda Beauty, the makeup empire created by Huda Kattan, has finally landed in Boots.
The Dubai-based beauty blogger has amassed than 40 million followers on Instragram, where she shares makeup tutorials on how to achieve her go-to look: full coverage foundation, richly pigmented, matte-finish liquid lipsticks, fluttering lashes and high-shine eyeshadow.
In 2013, Huda unveiled her own line of extravagant false lashes, branching out since into foundations, concealers, eyeliners, powders, contour and highlighter kits, and lipsticks under the Huda Beauty name – a business she runs together with her husband and sisters.
Now Huda Beauty is available to shop online at Boots – and come April 2020, you’ll also find Huda products on beauty counters in 80 stores across the UK.
Iraqi-American Kattan, whose shade range includes 20 differerent concealers, 30 foundations and five shades of cream contour, said bringing Huda Beauty to the UK high street was “both humbling and mind blowing”.
Arguably more exciting to the average beauty fan is that, if you buy two or more Huda products from Boots, you’ll receive a free full-size Demi Matte Lip in Dayslayer, a wearable creamy nude with brown undertones, while stocks last.
To get you started, we’ve picked our favourites from the Huda Beauty collection.
Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette, £58
This 18-shade palette is a sight to behold. There’s a mix of matte neutral colours, shimmery coppers and lilacs, and a handful of high impact glitter-packed hues to play with, so you can go as bold or downplayed as you like. But go big or go home, we say – retrograde be damned.
Huda Beauty Tantour Contour & Bronzer Cream, £26
Sculpt your cheekbones with this lightweight, blendable cream contour pot. Ditch the bronzer – this is all you need for a sun kissed glow. Tap it on to your cheeks with your finger (or a brush) and blend out. It comes in five shades to suit across a range of skin tones too.
Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer, £23
If you’re looking to cover up those dark circles or pesky spots that won’t budge, this product is your pal. A little goes a long way as it’s pretty full coverage, but it will last you for months. Running late? Ditch the foundation for this tube instead.
Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Shadows, £22
These dual ended eyeshadow pens are a great way to try playing with colour. One end’s a velvety matte shade and the other a shimmery, metallic in the same colour. There’s 15 duos to choose from but we’re obsessed with Room Service & Do Not Disturb, a brick red hybrid that will turn heads. Get stuck in.
Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation, £32
For a foundation that covers up all manner of sins, and most importantly lasts, the #FauxFilter foundation is in its own league. All 30 shades have a matte finish – holy grail for oily skin and as Huda herself puts it, Dubai proof. No amount of humidity will budge it. As with the concealer, a small amount will stretch so don’t make the same mistake I did and use three pumps in excitement. One will do.
Huda Beauty Sapphire Obsessions Palette, £25
Another thing Huda Beauty smashes is eyeshadows, with a handful of nine-shade ‘mini’ palettes in neutral nudes, colourful neons and vibrant blues like this one – perfect for a handbag friendly perk-up. For a look that’s minimal effort, maximum impact, we’d recommend applying the shimmer shades straight to the lid with your finger. Finish with lashings of mascara and voila, you’re ready.
Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick in Honeymoon, £22
Pack a punch with a burst of colourful lippie in this rosy-toned shade, Honeymoon. Like most of Huda Beauty’s products, it has a matte finish, but if you want more definition, simply add a gloss on top.
Huda Beauty Build & Blend Dual-Ended Eyeshadow Blending Brush, £14
With so many eyeshadows to play with, a good makeup brush is a must. Blend light and dark colours seamlessly and pack on the glitter with this dual ended brush that can be used for both. Feel free to blend concealer under the eyes using it too. Just make sure you clean in it between.
