Lewis Capaldi Being Mistaken For A Seat-Filler At The Grammys Is So Lewis Capaldi

It was quite the night for Lewis Capaldi at Sunday’s Grammys.

It was the Scottish singer’s first time at the annual music awards, and he certainly made the most of it.

He kicked off his evening by posing up a storm on the red carpet with a glorious array of facial expressions.

Lewis Capaldi arrives for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards

So you’d think that after leaving such an impression, and, you know, being one of the biggest stars of the last twelve months, that everyone would know who he was.

Errrrm, not quite.

The Someone You Loved singer revealed that once he was inside the Staples Centre in Los Angles, he was at the centre of a rather awkward exchange when he was mistaken for a seat-filler.

During the show, Lewis tweeted: “A lady at the grammys has just come up and offered to take my seat because she thought I was one of the people who sits in the chairs to fill them when someone gets up to use the bathroom.”

Awkward.

Lewis was nominated for his first ever Grammy at this year’s awards show, receiving recognition in the Song Of The Year category for his signature hit Someone You Loved.

After seven weeks at the top of the UK singles chart last year, the track went on to become a sleeper hit in the US, eventually reaching number one across the pond too.

He’s also among the top nominees at the upcoming Brit Awards, where he’s up for an impressive four awards.

As well as a nomination for Best New Artist, Lewis has also been recognised in the Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Best British Male Solo Artist categories.
