The Full List Of Bafta 2020 Nominations

The contenders for this year’s Baftas have been revealed, with Joker coming out on top as the most nominated film.

Joker has received an impressive 11 nominations at the upcoming awards show, including recognition for leading man Joaquin Phoenix, director Todd Phillips and a Best Film nod.

Closely behind are The Irishman and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, each on 10 nominations, with Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie – perhaps surprisingly, given the eventual size of her role – all up for acting prizes.

Margot has actually been recognised in the Best Supporting Actress category twice, once for her aforementioned portrayal of Sharon Tate and once in the forthcoming Bombshell.

A selection of this year's Bafta-nominated film

The most recognised British film is Sam Mendes’ 1917, fresh from its double-win at the Golden Globes, which is up for nine awards at the upcoming Baftas.

Other Brits who’ve received nominations in what has turned out to be a pretty US-heavy year for the Baftas include Jonathan Pryce for The Two Popes, Florence Pugh for Little Women, Jessie Buckley for Wild Rose and Taron Egerton for Rocketman.

Unfortunately, like the Golden Globes, no female directors have received any nominations, but Greta Gerwig has been recognised in the Best Adapted Screenplay category, for Little Women.
