The voting figures for this year’s I’m A Celebrity final have revealed just how narrowly Jacqueline Jossa ended up winning the series.
On Sunday night, the former EastEnders star was crowned this year’s Queen of the Jungle, beating fellow soap actor Andy Whyment in the live final.
ITV has now released the voting figures for the final, revealing Jacqueline won by a margin of just 1%, landing 50.61% of the overall vote, compared to Andy’s 49.39%.
This makes it one of the closest wins in I’m A Celebrity history, although that title still belongs to Charlie Brooks, who beat Ashley Roberts in 2012 with 50.56%, while the Pussycat Dolls star was on 49.34%.
Capital DJ Roman Kemp was awarded third place in this year’s live final.
When the voting was frozen earlier in the show, Roman was on 29.15%, while Jacqueline was still ahead of Andy.
In fact, the gap between them closed as the show went on, with Jacqueline on 36.97% and Andy on 33.89% at the time of Roman’s elimination.
After her win was first announced by Ant and Dec, a tearful Jacqueline said she had “no words”, before reeling off a list of special people in her life including her parents, children and husband Dan Osborne.
“It was not what I expected. It was a lot harder,” she said of her time in the jungle. “I didn’t think it would be such a turning point in life, I went in as one person, I feel like I have come out as a different person. I’ve grown in confidence and found who I am as a person.”
