TV actress Lorraine Kelly, best known for her recurring role as Lorraine Kelly in the hit ITV drama Lorraine, is breaking new ground and crossing over into the horror genre.
Yes, Lorraine is well and truly expanding her repertoire, as she discovered during Friday morning’s live show.
She and the show’s showbiz reporter were engrossed in conversation about the new sequel to Stephen King’s It when Lorraine got an unpleasant surprise from a crew member dressed as a clown, in honour of the film’s villain, Pennywise.
Letting out not one but two screams, Lorraine declared that she “hates clowns”, branding her team “absolute swines”.
Through relieved laughs, she added: “I need a gin! Oh, that was so scary.”
Soon after the clip was posted on social media, fans shared the love for the beloved acting legend…
It: Chapter Two picks up 27 years after the last film left off, reintroducing us to the “Losers Club” as adults, who must reunite to fight off Pennywise one last time.
Among the cast are Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy and Bill Hader, who play characters originally seen as teenagers in the first It film, released in 2017.
Meanwhile, Bill Skarsgard reprises his role as Pennywise, the terrifying clown who begins wreaking havoc on the people of Derry by playing up to their innermost fears.
After her ordeal on Friday morning, that’s one trip to the cinema Lorraine will probably be giving a miss…
Lorraine airs every weekday from 8.30am on ITV.
