Teenager Held After Girl, 11, ‘Raped At Disused Windmill On Isle Of Portland’

The Isle of Portland is five miles south of the resort of Weymouth, forming the southernmost point of the county of Dorset

An 18-year-old man has been arrested after a girl aged 11 was allegedly raped in the early hours of the morning in the area of an old windmill on the Isle of Portland.

The girl was reported to have been assaulted next to stone quarries south of Easton after meeting a male on a bicycle at around 3am on Saturday.

She had been with a 14-year-old female friend when the three of them walked on to Park Road, past a Tesco supermarket and down a track to an old stone windmill, Dorset Police said.

A man, who police said is local, was arrested on suspicion of rape and has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour appealed for information from anyone who saw two girls with a male cyclist in the Easton area in the early hours of Saturday.

He also urged people not to speculate, especially on social media, about what happened.
