Love Island’s Maura Higgins Admits She Thought Molly-Mae Hague And Tommy Fury Should Have Won After Her Shocked Reaction Went Viral

Love Island’s Maura Higgins has admitted she thinks a different couple should have won the series, after being caught looking stunned when Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea were crowned winners

Maura went viral (for about the millionth time this series, not that we’re complaining) with her open-mouthed expression at the result.

Speaking to reporters after leaving the villa, she’s now revealed who she thinks should have triumphed instead.

Maura, who finished in fourth place with Curtis Pritchard, said (via Metro): “Obviously I love Greg and Amber to bits, but it’s Love Island and Molly-Mae [Hague] and Tommy Fury] have found love and it’s genuine love.

“I thought they had it in the bag.”

She also hit back at claims Molly-Mae has been faking her love for Tommy, adding: “Molly-Mae is the most genuine girl I’ve ever met in my life, she’s amazing.

“She is without a doubt besotted by Tommy.”

The Islanders have returned to the UK

Molly-Mae and Tommy had been favourites to win the series until just hours before the final, when bookies named Amber and Greg as favourites.

On Tuesday morning, the finalists made their way back to the UK after celebrating the end of the series with a party at the villa.

They’ll come face-to-face with the rest of the Love Island 2019 gang on Sunday, for ITV2’s reunion special.
