Senior Labour MP Emily Thornberry is receiving treatment in hospital after coming off her bike in an accident as she left parliament.
The shadow foreign secretary was involved in a collision with a vehicle as she rode around parliament square around lunchtime today.
Police and an ambulance attended the scene and the Islington South and Finsbury MP was taken to hospital.
A spokesman for Thornberry said: “Emily is recovering in hospital, and is hugely grateful for the support of the ambulance crew and A&E staff who have helped her since this accident.
“We hope she will be back on her feet, back to work, and back on her bike as soon as possible.”
