Steph McGovern’s BBC Breakfast colleagues have shared messages of congratulations for their co-star, who recently announced that she’s expecting her first baby.
On Sunday morning, Steph confirming a tabloid report which claimed she is pregnant, telling her Twitter followers: “I see my news is out! I am now with child. #babyonboard.”
Fans soon congratulated the star, as did her fellow BBC stars, with Sally Nugent writing: “Yay! Huge congrats to our @stephbreakfast. Hope you remember I know what to do in a crisis. #andbreathe.”
Dan Walker also noted that “Congratulations Steph” had begun trending on Twitter in some parts of the UK.
“Remarkable stuff,” he wrote. “Your baby is already a trend setter.”
The BBC also posted a message on the morning programme’s official account, which read: “Massive congrats to our @stephbreakfast who is to become a Mum or as she would say ‘mam’. We are so pleased for her ❤️ 👶 🍼
“We’re all up for babysitting duties! Love from Team @BBCBreakfast.”
Other stars to congratulate Steph included Strictly Come Dancing champion Stacey Dooley, Good Morning Britain’s weather presenter Laura Tobin and BBC Breakfast sports presenter Mike Bushell.
The baby will be the first child for Steph and her girlfriend, and her due date is believed to be in November.
Since becoming a fan favourite on BBC Breakfast, Steph has fronted a number of other shows, and a new series of Shop Well For Less was recently announced.
She’s also filming a new programme, Easy Ways to Live Well, with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
