ASAP Rocky’s Wireless Set Cast In Doubt After Rapper’s Arrest

Rapper ASAP Rocky has been arrested in Sweden following an alleged street fight, just days before he’s due to headline Wireless Festival

The hip-hop star – whose real name is Rakim Mayers – was arrested in Stockholm on Sunday, a spokesperson for the Swedish Prosecution Authority said (via Press Association).

“I can confirm that he is arrested, suspected of gross assault after an incident in Stockholm on Sunday,” she said. 

“Two other persons are also arrested for gross assault.”

A video published by US website TMZ appears to show ASAP Rocky throwing a punch at another man in the street.

In another video posted to his Instagram account, ASAP Rocky alleged two men had been following him and his team through Stockholm, accusing them of attacking his security with headphones.

The rapper is due to perform at Wireless Festival on Sunday

The 30-year-old star is booked to perform at London’s Wireless festival this Sunday, but it is currently unclear if his headline slot will still go ahead.  

ASAP Rocky had performed at the Smash festival in Sweden before his arrest.
