Heads were always going to turn when Casa Amor returned to Love Island last week – but what no one expected was that it could spell the end for everyone’s favourite couple.
Fans of the ITV2 reality show watched on in horror on Sunday night, as Amber Gill’s future with Michael Griffiths was cast into doubt.
The latest episode saw Michael’s eye begin to wander as he got to know new arrival Joanna Chimonides.
As she pulled him for a chat to ask him where his and Amber’s relationship was at, he told her: “Things are going well. I wouldn’t really say we’ve had our ups and downs. We’ve had a little blip. It’s certain things that have gone on that I think is quite childish. Are they things that I would probably put up with outside? Probably not as much as I am in here.
“She’s quite straight with everything but at the same time she’s not straight with me sometimes and that can be quite frustrating.”
Pushed by Joanna on whether he would pursue things with any of the new girls, Michael continued: “If somebody comes in that’s genuinely better suited to me than Amber is, then it’s one of those things.”
After sharing a kiss during a game of sexy Charades, it became apparent there was a bit of a spark between them, and the following morning Michael admitted to the boys he was now questioning his future with Amber.
“I take a lot more on the chin and just squash things for the sake of not having an issue,” he said. “It does go back to the age thing. It’s making me realise things I’ve been brushing off.”
Confiding in the Beach Hut, Michael continued: “The new girls coming in has obviously come at a great time. It’s helped me realise situations that I’ve overlooked with Amber, and it’s made me realise that I did go into a shell over the past week and I wasn’t really acting myself. Just acting a bit out of character.”
As Amber insisted she would stay loyal to Michael while over at Casa Amor, fans were not OK with seeing him begin to stray…
But Michael isn’t the only one who’s head is turning thanks to the Casa Amor twist.
Anna Vakili and Jordan Hames’ future together is looking in serious doubt after Anna started cracking on with new boy Ovie Soko, while Jordan also started making eyes at Jourdan Raine.
Even Curtis Pritchard has expressed his doubts about his relationship with Amy Hart, revealing to Tommy Fury he’s open to the idea of getting to know Joanna and Jourdan.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
