All hail Steve Goodair, our festival saviour.
Goodair, from Yorkshire, shared a helpful tip for those attending Glastonbury this weekend – and it’s great news for people who are forever losing things.
Responding to a tweet from the official Glastonbury Twitter account, he shared a life hack for those prone to losing their phones, which is basically everyone at any festival (because booze).
“Put your mate’s number on your phone lock screen,” he tweeted, alongside a screenshot of his own phone screen. “If it’s handed in, they can ring your mate and get it back to you.”
To do this, you need to use your phone’s Notes app to write the number (or an email address, if you’d prefer) and then screenshot it. You then go into Settings and add the screenshot as your phone’s background. Simples.
Of course, the tip relies on other people being kind and not pocketing the phone for themselves – or simply treading it into the mud. But, at the time of writing, Goodair’s Glasto hack had been shared more than 100 times, with 600 likes.
It’s fair to say people are super impressed by the tip.
Others noted that it’s not just a useful hack for festivals – it could definitely be a game-changer on nights out too.
One person did note a flaw with the system and shared a handy workaround. Peter Eyre tweeted: “Make sure you switch off notification [sic] from the likes of WhatsApp or they cover it up.”
