A man believed to be in his 60s has died in a collision with a marked police vehicle which was responding to a 999 call in south London, Scotland Yard said.
The collision happened at around 11:30 on Wednesday morning in Mitcham.
The victim, a pedestrian, was treated by London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance but pronounced dead at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said.
A number of roads in the area have been closed and the force’s directorate of professional standards and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) have been notified.
