Teenage Boy Charged With Murder Of Brazilian Man In Battersea

The 16-year-old will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court today.

A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with murder after a Brazilian man died in south west London.

Iderval da Silva, 46, was found by emergency services with a head injury on Charlotte Despard Avenue, Battersea, at around 4.30pm on Saturday May 25.

He died in hospital on Tuesday.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Wimbledon Youth Court on Friday.

He was remanded in custody, and will appear at the Old Bailey for a bail application on June 4.

A 19-year-old male has also been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident, police said.
