Nigel Farage ‘Refused To Get Off A Bus’ After Men With Milkshakes Spotted

Nigel Farage was reportedly stuck on his campaign bus on Wednesday afternoon, after three men were were spotted holding milkshakes.

The Brexit Party leader, who is campaigning for Thursday’s European elections, was greeted by supporters in Rochester, Kent but refused to get off after the men were spotted.

Three people dressed in black with their hoods up and wearing balaclavas were spotted at the back of the crowd, Kent Live reported.

A fan of Farage alerted his team and said they were carrying milkshakes. The former leader of Ukip was then told not to get off the bus.

Driver Michael Botton told the local newspaper: “There are a couple of guys standing over there with milkshakes, they were going to throw them over him.

“But the police are there, we’ve spotted them and now Nigel isn’t getting off the bus.”

He later stepped off the bus but only moved about a metre away, according to a reporter at the scene. He then quickly got back on the bus, not doing his usual walkabout on the High Street which he had done at previous stops during the day.

On Monday, a milkshake was thrown over Farage in Newcastle. His suit was left covered in the drink which was later confirmed to be a a £5.25 Five Guys banana and salted caramel milkshake.

Shortly afterwards, he could be heard exclaiming “how did you not stop that?” and “it’s a failure” as his staff ushered him away from the scene and into a taxi.

A man has been charged with common assault and criminal damage with regards to the incident.

Paul Crowther, 32, will appear before magistrates in North Tyneside on 18 June.

Farage is not the only candidate who has received the milkshake treatment.

Far-right activist Tommy Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has been covered in milkshake twice during the campaign.

A milkshake was also thrown over another Ukip candidate, Carl Benjamin.
