The Duke and Duchess of Sussex today presented their newborn son Archie Harrison to the world, and the photos are simply adorable.
The happy parents posed for photos at St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle – and while many were glued to the tiny newborn, it seems eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but notice Meghan’s delicate necklace.
The gold and turquoise necklace is from LA-based designer Jennifer Meyer, according to Meghan’s Mirror, a style website reporting on the Duchess of Sussex’s outfits and accessories. It’s handcrafted in 18-karat yellow gold, with three small bezels.
The necklace doesn’t come cheap, at £576.60 on the designer’s website and £680 on Net-A-Porter’s website (although it is currently sold out).
We’ve rounded up some turquoise and gold necklaces below, so you can get the look for a fraction of the price. And if you were born in December, even better, because turquoise is your birth stone.
Orelia gold plated crescent & turquoise layering necklace, Asos, £28.00
The only way to wear your necklaces at the moment is to layer them, so what a treat to get two for one with this layered number from Asos.
The necklaces are 80% brass and 20% semi-precious stone. Dimensions are not available, but images on the Asos website will give you an idea of length.
Birthstone necklace, Missoma, £85
If your birthday is in December, lucky you. If it isn’t, you can still get yourself this birthstone necklace. We love the star cut-out detail.
The necklace is 18ct Gold Vermeil. The pendant is 18 mm X 15 mm, while the chain is 450mm, with extension links at 410mm/430mm/460mm.
Evil Eye necklace, Chan Luu, Net-A-Porter, £120
This evil eye pendant is modelled on ancient amulets designed to “fight off negative energy and evil spirits”. In recent years, the evil eye has become something of a fashion statement, so this gold, turquoise and diamond number is definitely one to invest in.
The chain is 18.5cm in length, while the pendant is 1cm by 1.09cm.
Turquoise Mini Floris Pendant Necklace, Asterly Clarke, £80
OK, technically not yellow gold, but rose gold still counts in our books. We really love the floris pendant, which makes this necklace pretty unique.
The karat rose gold necklace has an adjustable chain between 14-16cm in length and the pendant is 6 x 6 x 1.5mm.
Gold Arizona Turquoise Necklace, Feather And Stone, Wolf And Badger, £50
This 14k necklace is the most turquoise of the lot. The chain comes in a range of lengths and all for the same price – so you can buy the length you want without worrying about additional costs.
The pendant is 6mm.
Gold turquoise necklace, Gemma Jolee, Etsy, £18.00
This is perhaps the most similar to Meghan’s necklace, with a row of turquoise beads. We like that it’s from Etsy too, as it’s more unique than what you might find on the high street. Oh, and we like the price tag a lot, too.
The necklace is 14k gold and the gemstones are 4mm. The chain is 43cm long.
Luckily pendant, Swarovski, £49.00
This turquoise and diamond pendant is a whole lot of fun, and there is a matching bracelet and ring too.
The chain is 38 cm long and the pendant is 1×1.5 cm.
