Canning Town Deaths: Second Woman Named After Two Bodies Found In East London Freezer

The second woman whose body was found in a freezer in an east London flat has been named.

Henriett Szucs, 34, was a Hungarian national who had been in the UK for several years, Scotland Yard said.

Two fully-clothed bodies, which were fused together in a small chest freezer, were found in a ground floor flat in Vandome Close, east London, on April 26.

The other woman has been formally identified as mother-of-three Mihrican Mustafa.

The 38-year-old, known as MJ, had been missing for nearly a year.

A statement from Scotland Yard said post-mortem examinations on the two victims showed they suffered “multiple” injuries.

It said: “Henriett’s next of kin have been informed but formal identification has not yet taken place.

“Post-mortem examinations have now concluded for both women. While no formal cause of death has been established, these have confirmed that MJ and Henriett suffered multiple injuries. Further tests are being carried out.”

Zahid Younis, 34, who lived at the property, was arrested and appeared in court accused of two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body on or before April 2017.

A 50-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation.

Police said the apartment where the bodies were found had been used by “transient members of the community” and linked to drugs. They have appealed for anyone who visited the address over the past year to come forward.
