It’s been a while since we’ve seen the high-camp Lady Gaga of old, but she staged a return to form as she hosted the Met Gala on Sunday night.
The theme of the annual ball, which marks the opening of the New York Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit, was a celebration of all things camp, giving the singer the opportunity to return to her roots.
In keeping with some of her most iconic red carpet looks, Gaga put on a 15-minute display, debuting not one but four looks.
Making a dramatic arrival, she wore this elaborate pink number…
The 25ft train was so long a crew of handlers had to help carry it up the museum’s stairs…
She then dramatically whipped it off to unveil this black ensemble…
Before one of her assistants peeled that down to reveal a hot pink column dress…
Things then got a little bit Clueless-meets-Trigger Happy TV…
Finally, Gaga stripped right down to her underwear and struck some serious poses…
Now THAT is how you arrive at your own party.
The fashion bash’s other host, Harry Styles, also got in the camp spirit for the occasion.
He donned a ruffled sheer blouse, complete with a pair of Simon Cowell-style Cuban heels and one of Pat Butcher’s earrings.
