Sheridan Smith has apologised for a string of tweets sent earlier this week, in which she claimed her fiancé’s mum had killed her dog.
The Cleaning Up star recently got engaged to Jamie Horn and her initial posts sparked numerous replies from concerned fans.
Addressing them, Sheridan referred to the tweets as “my silly rant”, writing: “Thought I would clear up my silly rant. Firstly, I apologise to anyone who was upset, I was hurt & angry but this was no one’s fault.”
The actress also confirmed her dog has died, but referred to the death as “an accident”.
“Unfortunately my darling Panny was being looked after when another dog attacked her & as a result she died,” she said. “I’m sorry for my outburst.”
Sheridan accompanied the post with two snaps of the pooch.
Sheridan and Jamie got engaged earlier this year after meeting on dating app, Tinder.
The actress has clarified their relationship status numerous times, as fans have speculated over whether they’ve secretly got hitched, because she often refers to him as “hubby”.
“Every time I call him my hubby people presume we are married, it’s just a nickname & I’ll let u know when we decide to get married,” she tweeted last month. “I will want you all wearing hats please. So here is me pouting with the ‘fella’.”
Late last year, Sheridan revealed that she had relocated to the countryside, in order to help stay out of the public eye.
“I’ve always wanted to move away and have my farm and just be surrounded by animals,” she said. “So that’s happening at the minute and it’s really exciting. I’ve bought four donkeys, two goats and two pigs. I’ve rescued them.”
She added: “I’m not very good with money but I’m starting to get better. I’m starting to get financial advice on things now instead of just buying more animals.
“But it’s just nice to be able to go away to my animals and be able to come back to my job, then go back to my animals.”
