When Phoebe Waller-Bridge announced that her one-woman show was returning to the West End for one last time, we all knew what was going to happen.
And sure enough, within hours of going on sale, the three-and-a-half week run of Fleabag sold out, leaving thousands of fans gutted.
But thankfully all hope is not lost, as there’s still a few ways to get your hands on tickets. Here’s how…
Returns
There won’t be many but it’s inevitable that some of the lucky people who managed to nab seats will have to return their tickets for whatever reason.
The Wyndham’s Theatre, where Fleabag is on, is yet to confirm exactly how they will handle these, but the usual protocol sees them sold on the day of the performance, on a first-come-first-served basis at the box office.
The on-the-day lottery
Shortly after the tickets sold out, the Wyndham’s announced a lottery for each performance. A total of 33 tickets – in the front row and boxes – will be up for grabs, for just £20 each (which is significantly lower than the standard prices too).
Try for a standing ticket
The theatre has also announced that there will be a further 33 standing tickets for each show, which are available at an even cheaper price of £10. These will be sold each day, on a first-come-first-served basis.
See? All hope is not lost, we promise.
Phoebe first performed the one-woman show at the Edinburgh Festival back in 2013, where it was met with mixed reviews but soon became an award winner.
She has since revived it several times, sometimes with other actors playing the title character, and of course, it caught the BBC’s attention and Fleabag the series was commissioned.
The second series won huge critical acclaim when it aired earlier this year, but despite fans calls for more, Phoebe has remained insisted that the bittersweet finale really does mark the end for the show.
