Two of this year’s Dancing On Ice contestants have suffered accidents ahead of this week’s live show.
Gemma Collins, who is gearing up for a return to the ice after her fall last week, has revealed on her Instagram page that she’s in “absolute agony”, after taking a second tumble during training.
“The night before Dancing On Ice I’ve had another fall today,” she told her followers, on her birthday, no less. “I’m in absolute agony.”
She then shared a photo of herself undergoing medical treatment to try and reduce the swelling in her leg ahead of her return to the ice.
Meanwhile, a Dancing On Ice rep has revealed that Melody Thornton is also being “constantly monitored”, after suffering an accident during rehearsals on Thursday.
The former Pussycat Dolls performer needed to visit a chiropractor after she also fell on the ice, while rehearsing with partner Alexander Demetriou.
Despite the injuries, both stars are expected to go ahead with this week’s live show, which it was previously revealed will have a fairytale theme.
Melody was recently seen posing in a fishtail, suggesting her performance will be inspired by The Little Mermaid, while earlier this week Gemma shared a photo of herself dressed as the Wicked Queen from Snow White.
But they aren’t the only stars who’ve been hit with injuries during this year’s series, with cricketer Ryan Sidebottom even having to miss last week’s show as he recovered after an accident in training.
Former Love Island star Wes Nelson’s training was also in jeopardy this week, after he hurt his knee while practising with professional skater Vanessa Bauer.
Dancing On Ice airs on Sunday nights at 6pm on ITV.
